The Origin Story
Opening Black Dog Bottle Shop is something we've dreamed about for a few years now, but the timing just never seemed right.
One of the reasons is Steve had had ongoing, unexplained health problems for years. In May 2017, doctors diagnosed Steve with thyroid cancer. We were told he’d likely had it for 5-8 years.
After the shock wore off and Steve had fully recovered from treatment, we realized that the timing is now for us to do something that we love and are excited and passionate about. While it may sound cliché, it was a wake-up call to make the most of our lives, love what we do, and love the people we do it with.
